Cover of the 2027 Awesome Auroras wall calendar: purple, pink and green aurora rays over spruce trees and a snowy road.

Hi, everyone! I'm happy to announce my 2027 Aurora Calendar: Awesome Auroras!

Like last year, this is a fully custom calendar with gorgeous aurora photos, a sidebar for every month explaining the story and the science behind each image, and moon phases, meteor showers, and eclipses labeled for each month.

Ten of the months are my favorite aurora photos from Alaska and Churchill, Manitoba, with many recent captures from the last two aurora seasons.

New for 2027: two of the months came from you. June and July are the two months with no aurora over Alaska, so this year I opened them up to a photo contest. June was decided by a public vote, and I picked July by hand. Scroll down to see both winners and every photo that was entered.

Here are all 12 months of my 2027 calendar

June and July were chosen by you

Rainbow Magic by Lisa Lirones, taken over Torch Lake, Michigan, won the public vote for the June page out of 40 photos. July is Kenosee STEVE by Neil Zeller, taken at Kenosee Lake, Saskatchewan, which I picked from 63 entries.

Thank you to everyone who entered a photo and everyone who voted. I am running the contest again for the 2028 calendar.
